Stories about the major problems caused by emotional and behavioral issues among college athletes have been far too common in the news these days. These incidents are of major concern for the institutions and can have devastating, long-term effects on the students involved. Many of the top colleges and universities are making an effort to head off this problem by educating and counseling their athletes, arming them with the emotional tools they need to make better decisions. And, many of those top colleges and universities have engaged Dr. Christian Conte to help them in that effort.
Dr. Conte’s interactive program teaches decision-making skills centered on character development, with a specific focus on:
- Emotional Management
- Relationships
- Communication
Dr. Conte’s visit to your campus will be customized to address your specific concerns and goals. The program typically begins with some casual time, joining the athletes as they congregate or work out, in order to learn more about them and gain a better perspective on their social structure. This is normally followed by a workshop session with the athletes, honing the skills they need to grow and succeed. Finally, Dr. Conte maintains follow up communication with the school’s Player Development Team, ensuring that they have what they need to effect the desired changes.
